Manchester, 6th September 2022 – Edina, an on-site power generation solutions provider for hydrogen-ready Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants, standby power generation, and recently battery energy storage systems (BESS), has won its first contract with UK developer ForePower for its system-integrated BESS solution.
ForePower provides National Grid with the ability to stabilise the electricity network with its portfolio of assets. Funded by Nash Business Capital Ltd, the 10MW 1-hour duration BESS project in South Yorkshire, UK, will provide a range of balancing services to the electricity grid to ensure power security, system flexibility and accelerate renewable energy integration.
Edina’s modular outdoor battery energy storage solution is fully integrated and prefabricated with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell chemistry, liquid-cooled thermal management system, skid-mounted inverter systems, battery management system and UL certified fire detection and suppression systems.
Edina will provide the full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and system integration scope of work to included detailed design, engineering, project management and installation, plant commissioning and discussions are underway to undertake long-term plant maintenance.

The project is scheduled for operation in early 2023 and will allow ForePower to access the Capacity Market, Fast Frequency Response, and other grid services markets.
